ELI HAS NOTHING TO PROVE TO REAL GIANTS FANS

It,s been awhile since my last post. Actually, its been over a year. But something has finally got me pissed enough to bring me back!
It's the ridiculous notion the Eli Manning somehow has to "prove" he an "elite" NFL quarterback.

Even worse than these retarded statements, is the fact that some Giants fans are getting sucked in by these stories, and are actually believing, and repeating them.
I understand that beat writers have job to write such stories. But, Giants fans, please think for yourself. Don't allow these people to think for you just because they happen to be employed by a newspaper, or they have 18,000 followers on twitter. I promise you, you know just as much about football as they pretend to know.

Back to Eli Manning. Let's get to the facts about this guy, who because he happens to be facing Tom Brady and the New England Patriots this week, has to "prove how elite he is".

This is Eli's 7 season in the NFL. To date, Eli has 24,773 passing yards (two 4,000 yd seasons '09 & '10), 169 TDs, and 118 INTs. His accomplishments, that of which a few hall of fame QBs I can think of would kill for, are as followed; 2008 pro bowl selection, 4 straight seasons of playoff appearances ('05-'08), 2007 Super Bowl winner over an undefeated Patriots team, Super Bowl XLII MVP, and he's an iron man. Eli hasn't missed one start! And as of this 2011 season, Manning in 7 games has passed for 2127 yds (including a career high 420 vs Seattle) putting him on pace for 4800 yds; 13 TDs, and only 5 INTs. On top of all that, the guy that needs to "prove himself" is also clutch. Manning own's the league's best fourth quarter passer rating at 119.3. And there's no other QB this season better at fourth quarter comeback wins.

Fact is, if you're a TRUE Giants fan, you know Eli has nothing to prove in relation to being an ELIte NFL QB. Anybody who says different either wants you to read their links, or is fucking retarded. For me, Eli Manning went beyond the call of duty in only his fourth year in the league. And his elitness only did, and will get greater.

Eli Manning and his New York Giants play Brady, the QB that apparently has nothing to prove, and his Patriots this Sunday. And yes, its been 4 years since Eli beat him and his Patriots to win Super Bowl XLII. But Brady, who has nothing to prove, has been losing Super Bowls, missing playoffs, and been getting stomped out in 1st rounds since '05. Winning or losing this week 9 game against New England WILL NOT make, break, or define Eli Manning's great NFL career. I promise you.
